How it works

ID is a digital identity service powered by Mastercard that allows you to create a secure and reusable digital identity within the 1derful app. When you sign up for a 1derful account you'll be asked to create a Mastercard ID so we can verify who you are and minimise the risk of fraud. It is simple to set up and only takes a few taps.

Firstly, you'll scan the front and back of your driver's licence. Then, you'll scan your face so we can match it to your driver's licence. You'll be asked to confirm all of your details are correct before submitting them for verification. Once we verify your identity you'll be ready to complete the final step of setting up your 1derful account.

Who has access to my data?

Where is my data stored?

Your ID data is encrypted and stored in a secure location on your mobile device. And because your facial biometrics are used to unlock your ID on your device, only you can access and use your data.

What if the information from my identity document scan is incorrect, or ID finds outdated information?

If the information from your identity document scan is incorrect, or ID finds outdated information, then you can manually edit your information within your mobile application. Or you can re-scan the document. Be aware that certain information, like your address or email, could be outdated.​

What identity document can I use to create an ID?

Currently you can use your Australian driver’s license to create an ID. If you don't have an Australian driver's licence you can still sign up for a 1derful card with your passport using the manual identify verification process.

What should I do if I do not have a driver’s license or passport to enroll?

You won't be able to create a 1derful account without a driver's licence or passport as we need to verify your identity before providing you with a 1derful card.

What should I do if I have difficulty scanning my driver’s license?

This could be related to the quality of the document. If your document is worn or damaged, it could affect the ability to scan it.If your document is in good condition, then it could be related to the way you position the documents or the lighting. Refer to these instructions:

What should I do if I have difficulty scanning my face?

First check if there is an issue with your internet connection. Poor or intermittent internet connection can sometimes be a reason for scanning issues.If everything is working with your internet connection, then it could be related to how you are taking the photo. Be sure to:

Can I still use ID if my device’s camera is broken?

To complete set up, or share your digital identity, you will need a working camera. If you are unable to fix your camera or get access to a device with a working camera, you'll need to complete the manual identity verification process.

Do you accept international passports?

ID accepts the majority of international passports. However there are some international passports that are not supported. If you do not have a compatible identity document to complete your identity verification, unfortunately we won't be able to provide you with an account at this time.

Why do I need to grant camera access?

The 1derful app needs access to your camera for you to scan your photo identity document as well as your face. We require this scan to verify your documents authenticity, capture your details automatically for you, and match your identity photo to your face. This is to ensure you’re really you.

My document has expired, what do I do?

An expired driver’s licence or passport cannot be accepted. You will need to complete the manual identity verification process.

I accidentally exited before I shared my ID, what do I do?

If you exited before you agreed to share your ID with 1derful, you will be able to continue the ID process when you return to the app.
